A California native, she has been a lover of movement her entire life and feels most at home in her body when dancing.

After college Lanae Rhodes moved to NYC and her dancing career began. Like many others she found an easy transition from Dance into Fitness through a Craig’s List Ad. LOL remember Craig’s List? Good Times.

Lanae taught the very first ever class at SLT almost 11 years ago! SLT (Strengthen, Lengthen, Tone) Founded in NYC in 2011 is a 50-minute class utilizing a Megaformer (a machine invented by Sebastien Lagree to intensify Pilates workouts) to provide a challenging, low impact workout. Over the years, SLT has gained a following of celebrity devotees like Chrissy Teigen, Sofia Vergara, Nina Agdal, Emmy Rossum and even Victoria’s Secret models.

She started as an instructor, moved on to be a master instructor and eventually to be director of training and development. A devout yankees fan, Lanae is also involved with Broadway Bares benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

She has been featured on the daily front row, youbeauty.com, and her Shitzu Elton is a regular participant in her SLT on demand classes. Her mantra: Whoever said orange is the new pink is seriously disturbed is one we can all relate to.

I am honored to welcome Lanae to the podcast this week!
